Zack Snyder Shares An Early Photo Of Batman, Superman And Wonder Woman In Costume Together
The debut of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice did something historic for the big screen comic book movie genre. The second DCEU movie introduced Batman and Wonder Woman, and it brought the legendary DC Trinity together in live-action for the very first time. The monumental nature of that union was not lost on director Zack Snyder, and the director recently took to social media to share an image from the costume test that brought the heroes together. Check it out, below.
Truly a moving moment for DC fans. The black and white picture seen above was posted to Zack Snyder's Vero account, and it shows the costume test that brought united Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, and Ben Affleck as Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman, respectively. Though other heroes like The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa) would eventually get fully introduced during the events of Justice League, the introduction of the DC Trinity in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was the film that solidified the moment that the DC universe became a cinematic universe post-Man of Steel.
Of course, this photo leads us to wonder when we may see these characters unite for another adventure. We know that Wonder Woman 2 is currently on the way and set for a November 1, 2019 release date, and that Matt Reeves is currently developing a standalone Batman movie (though it remains unclear if Ben Affleck will return to the cape and cowl as Bruce Wayne for that film). That said, it's not clear when a second Justice League movie will debut in theaters -- a stark contrast from when this picture was taken, as Zack Snyder's original approach to the DCEU involved a five-movie arc that would've included Justice League 2. Now it's just a matter of waiting to see how the folks behind the DCEU will choose to bring the Trinity together for another outing.
Fast-forwarding to the present, Zack Snyder has now mostly left the DCEU behind and moved on to new projects as a director. He's still involved as a producer on some projects like Wonder Woman 2, but his next film should take him away from the superhero genre, as he hopes to adapt Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead into a full-blown feature. That said, given the deluge of DC-related reveals that Snyder has posted to his social accounts in recent days, it seems like he still has quite a bit of passion for the landscape that he created.

See What Robert Pattinson Could Look Like As DCs Young Bruce Wayne
Don't even think the word "Twilight." Robert Pattinson, now age 32, may or may not have a single thing to do with Matt Reeves' new The Batman movie. But artist BossLogic got the conversation going last week with this image, based off a rumor, but really based off the idea that the Good Time actor could be an interesting choice for the role:
No idea if there's any truth to that rumor, but probably not. Still, Robert Pattinson would be an intriguing choice as younger Bruce Wayne/Batman. It would instantly be controversial, since his name is still associated with Twilight, but anyone who watched him in The Rover, The Lost City of Z, Water for Elephants or -- especially -- the acclaimed 2017 crime film Good Time -- knows he's not just Edward Cullen. Plus, the controversy could be good for marketing to build anticipation.
So far, reactions to the image and overall idea have mostly fallen along lines of reactions to Robert Pattinson. There's the hell no crowd -- either because of Twilight, his other acting, just general dislike of him, or better options from other actors. And there's the hell ... maybe crowd -- with people saying they wouldn't have thought of him first but they could see it.
Potential replacement names have been flying since Ben Affleck made it official that he was leaving the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in the DCEU. Director Matt Reeves is reportedly looking for a familiar face in a particular age range to fill the role. It's all pretty vague right now, so fans have been speculating about who might be a good choice to be the next Batman.
We've seen plenty of Batman actors over the years, and unless Adam West comes back, whoever is cast will be met with the usual complaints. (Who am I kidding? Adam West would be criticized too.) We all have our favorite Batmans, from Adam West and Michael Keaton to Christian Bale and Ben Affleck (plus Val Kilmer and George Clooney).
I can't think of a time when an actor was cast as Batman and wasn't picked apart for it. Some of the same people now showering praise on Ben Affleck's Batman were probably the loudest voices in the room saying "Ben Affleck?!" when he was cast. That's why you try and trust the director and give the actor a chance.
That's not an argument saying Robert Pattinson should play Batman. It's just an early request for everyone to not do the usual knee-jerk freakout at whoever eventually does get the role.

Is Avengers 4 Going To Be The Part Two Of Avengers: Infinity War?

There are a number of unsolved mysteries lingering around Avengers: Infinity War, the largest being how the movie will end. Do we think that Joe and Anthony Russo will conclude Avengers: Infinity War on a cliffhanger? Will this movie serve as Part One of a two-part story? When CinemaBlend visited the set of Infinity War in Atlanta, we asked them this directly, and got a very interesting reply. Co-director Joe Russo explained:
Our approach has always been ... we look at the process, as with [co-writers Christopher] Markus and [Stephen] McFeely, it's simply the same thing in the way that the Winter Soldier relates to Civil War, and the way that Civil War relates to Infinity War. These two [Avengers] movies will also relate. There's a narrative thread that is connecting these films, but at the same time, there's an independence in terms of what the experience is, or where the story goes. It isn't a true two-parter. And I think the two-parter concept came back when Marvel decided they were going to culminate the MCU. It was going to be a two-movie deal. But as we developed the movie, in execution, it ended up being more of two singular expressions. And I think that's just what happened.
This stems from the event that Marvel President Kevin Feige held several years ago, where he mapped out the entire Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in one fell swoop. The culmination of that announcement was the reveal that the studio was going to make Avengers: Infinity War -- Part 1 and Part 2. Now, however, the tide has turned, and Avengers 4 is an untitled standalone film, yet one that still continues the story that will be established in Infinity War.
When we met with Joe and Anthony Russo on the Avengers: Infinity War set, they were shooting both films at the same time, and not fully considering where they would split. Or, perhaps, they knew, and just wouldn't share! That's more likely. We don't even know for certain whether Thanos (Josh Brolin) will be part of Avengers 4, or if he'll do something in Avengers: Infinity War that so drastically alters the fabric of the existing MCU that there's no turning back, making Avengers 4 a clean-up movie
